One day when I’m on my deathbed, surrounded by loved ones who are weeping uncontrollably over my body, I will use my final breath to whisper:
“Stop… buying… courses…”
And then I’ll flatline.
And my family will be like, “welp, she was consistent.”
Because I have been saying this for six years. And I will not stop.
Here’s what’s in my course graveyard right now.
🪦 An SEO course I bought in 2020 that I made it roughly 40% through before my kid got sick and I forgot about it
🪦 A storytelling course from 2021 I was genuinely excited about – bought it, opened it, did the first module...and then I got overwhelmed by the workload and I never went back
🪦 An icon design course I bought in 2024 that I KNOW will add to my design skills, but keeps getting pushed out of the way for more urgent stuff (this one is still on my list. maybe in august??)
Over six years of running my business, I’ve spent thousands of dollars on courses I never finished. Thousandssssss.
And here’s the thing – they weren’t bad courses. The instructors knew their stuff.
The format was the problem.
Because self-paced means self-motivated, self-accountable, and self-disciplined – on top of running a business, raising kids, managing a chronic illness, and doing the actual client work that pays my bills.
So the course sits there.
And I feel guilty about it.
And I tell myself I’ll get to it next month.
And I don’t.
And then I buy a different course because it is the ONE!!!
I’m not anti-DIY.
I am genuinely, passionately pro-DIY for certain things at certain stages. That scrappy self-starter energy is what built your business in the first place.
But there’s a difference between DIYing when you’re getting started and have more time than money… and DIYing when you’re established, booked out, and trying to squeeze a 12-module course into the 45 minutes between client calls and school pickup.
At a certain point, you are too busy and too good at what you do to spend your limited hours trying to apply someone else’s expertise through a screen.
What actually works when you’re in that season?
Accountability. Dedicated time. A guide.
🚫 Not a video library you keep kicking to the next week of your to-do list.
🚫 Not a PDF workbook collecting dust in your Downloads folder.
🚫 Not an overly active Slack community you joined with great intentions and muted within a week.
Someone in your corner, walking the path with you, who’s already done this dozens of times and can say “here’s why this matters for your business specifically.”
That’s not a course, bb. That’s a completely different format.
So I built it 💅
Website Wayfinder is a done-with-you group program, which really just means we build your site together – the whole thing, top to bottom. Strategy, words, design, and all the techy launch stuff. We are NOT nudging a few blocks around a template and calling it a glow-up.
And every decision about how I run it comes from years of doing this work – and knowing the exact kind of support it takes to actually get someone from stuck-at-40% → done.
The building happens during the call.
We do a little training, then we roll up our sleeves and work on your real site together, with me answering your questions as they come up.
And yes – you’ll still do the work.
I’m not promising it magically gets built by little birds and mice while you twirl around singing. But I am promising it’ll be about 500% easier, with a result roughly 5000% better than whatever you’d cobble together solo at midnight.
Every week, there’s a live session – because a block on the calendar is the only reason any of us finishes anything.
(Science probably backs me up on this. My Downloads folder definitely does.)
I cap it at 15 people so I can give the real, individual support Reader needs – eyes on your real business, feedback on your real site.
And I built in two catch-up weeks on purpose, because I already know that at some point, life is going to life all over your best intentions.
So no, falling behind won't wash you out. (I planned for it – for you, for me, and for the inevitable sick kid.)
You come out the other side understanding why your site works the way it does. So you’re not back here in two years, buying one more course to fix it.
The doors aren’t open yet. But the no-strings waitlist is.
Get on the list and I’ll send you the details over the next few weeks as we get closer.
You’ll have first dibs when the 15 spots open up; plus two bonuses just for joining from the list:
- a Loom review of your current site (what’s working, and where you’re losing clicks before you even start)
- and my Trail Mix prep system to make the whole build lighter.
Peace out cub scout,
PS I would like it noted that I wrote an entire email about not buying courses instead of finishing any of the ones I own 💁🏻♀️
