Join my free 5-day challenge Nov 16th-20th to nail down the 5 essentials you need BEFORE templates, designers, or copywriting – so you get a site that finally does what everyone promised

Last week I was all questions. This week I'm sticking to what I absolutely know to be true.

If a new website is on your 2027 wish list, here are 4 truths you need to know:

Truth #1: Most website designers worth their salt are booked through 2026 and already scheduling for next year. (I. Knowww.)

Truth #2: Most people buy a Black Friday template for its vibes instead of its structure and systems. And even if it tells you exactly what copy goes where, you'll be staring at a blank page if you haven't nailed your foundations first.

Truth #3: If you skip the prep, your site build is going to be a kajillion times harder and take a quadrillion times longer, whether you're building it yourself or paying someone else to.

Truth #4: For service providers, consultants, and coaches, Squarespace is still the right move. (Here's why)

So if I wanted a new website next year, here's EXACTLY what I'd do between now and December:

November 16 – 20: Get your shit together

Nobody gets excited about this part: figuring out what your site actually needs to do, who it’s for, how to explain what you do, what’s in your offers, and which proof shows you’re a boss.

It's annoying.

But this exactly why i run the free Get Your Site Together Challenge.

Five days, one piece at a time, all of us together in Slack, with my feedback on your work every single day, so the boring part actually gets done 🎉

Nov 20 – Dec 8: Decide how you wanna do your site

💪 If you want to work on it yourself but with a guide:

Then the choice is easy, it's Website Wayfinder.

You'll get a buttload of quickstarts (base site, asset libraries, brand guidance), 1:1 strategy and support, and you'll build it one step at a time over 12 weeks.

There's absolutely no other program like it out there, at this cost, with this much support 👀

😮‍💨 If you'd rather hire it out:

Book calls with 3 designers to catch the vibes and see who's a good fit (here's how to do that). If calls aren't doable, dig through their portfolios instead. Do it before they're booked!

(I've currently got 1 spot in January and 1 in March, and you can grab a fit-check call with me in this window, too.)

👷🏼 If you want to work on it totally yourself:

Good thing you’ve already figured out what your site actually needs! Now you can walk into that Black Friday template sale knowing exactly what to look for, instead of buying whatever’s prettiest at 70% off.

December 8 – 14: Book it

Book with a designer or sign up for Website Wayfinder. By December 14, no designer worth their salt can start until halfway through January - so this is your deadline.

Then you've got a month over the holidays to finish your prep (the stuff we can't get to in a one-week challenge).

By the time you start your site, you'll be breathing easy.

Look, I get it. Planning this far ahead feels a little ridiculous when you've got a bajillion things on your plate.

So take my advice or not, booboo 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just want you to have this thing done and out in the world.

Because the difference between "ugh, I reeeeeeeally need to redo my site" and "holy shit, I can't believe my new site 🤩" comes down to one thing:

Actually getting it on your calendar.

Step number one:

You got this boo,

P.S. Booked by December 14? Then your holiday prep goes straight into Trail Mix: Your Site Prep Kit. Brand photos, ideal client, market research, keywords, testimonials, and offers, gathered in bite-size snacks and organized in one Notion dashboard so you're not hunting through a bajillion folders when you (or your designer) actually need it.

NGL, Trail Mix doesn't make building a site easy – but it does smooth out all the bumps and roadblocks. Which is a BFD when you need to make your limited time count.

(And if you join Website Wayfinder, you get it for freeeeeee.)

PPS Here again are the 2 ways to redo your site with me at the helm:

⏰ SOONEST: 1 spot available for January and 1 for March. Northstar Site Build: Full 3-week sprint build for businesses ready to ditch their starter site for good.

🌊 DIY-ISH: Website Wayfinder enrolls in Dec, starts January, site launches in April. 15 spots total – sign up for the waitlist now for extra bonuses.

What I'm scoping out this week:

🤔 Screwing my head on straight:

My friend Lauren Glynn is hosting a free, live workshop called "Why You're Still Doing It All Even With Help (And How to Finally Get Out of the Way)"

She's going to help us finally understand why having help feels like more work than doing it yourself, and leave with a plan for getting out of the way, without hiring more people.

👩‍🎤 Content (ugh) creation:

If you’re tired of starting every week wondering “what the hell am I supposed to post?”, my friend Sydney O’Brien just created a free tool called Content Chaos Reset.

It helps you create a 14-day, multi-platform content plan so your content actually connects instead of feeling like a bunch of random posts.

😎 Getting clear on my goals

I haven't signed up for this yet, but I'm reeeaaally close: The Business Sleepover (Clearwater, FL from January 25-28, 2027) is an all-inclusive intuitive business retreat by The Colorful Jess for values-driven entrepreneurs to reflect, strategize, and connect in-person while setting goals for 2027. I mean, it sounds like perfection...
