I call this story: Mold in the Time of Diarrhea Lettuce

This week we are moving our family of 4 into temporary housing because of mold and water damage in our house.

Plus have to get ALL the furniture out of the kids’ room (bunk bed!!), my office, and the living room.

All in the middle of getting my own sh*t together for my free Get Your Site Together challenge.

The thing about mold damage is you don’t know how insidious it is until they start opening up the walls.

We have no idea which rooms are affected, what needs to move, or how long any of this is going to take.

⁉️ We go to the beach for a week on July 26. Are we back before then?
⁉️ My 9-year-old starts soccer first week of August. Should I move his soccer stuff out of the dresser? Should we take it with us?
⁉️ What food do we bring?

(Thank god we rent. I have NEVERRRRRR been so glad I don’t own a house. I’ve been glad about that plenty of times, but never like this)

We couldn’t actually start until we figured out what areas needed to be cleared plus what our plans were.

We still needed a ton of help – but once we had our starting point, we could take the next step.

You can't pack before you know the plan.

Every time a site task shows up on your list, you kick it to next month.

It's not like it's not important to you.

It's just that every time you try to get into it, you hit the same wall – there’s just so much, and you don’t even know where to begin.

Here's what's actually happening: nobody told you that figuring out your starting point is even the first question to ask.

So you skip it.

You try to start anyway.

Then hit that wall and close the laptop.

Or you do what everyone does – endlessly open new tabs of inspo, write and delete your services intro seventeen times, get stuck in a color tweaking vortex.

And that's how you spend a lot of energy traveling down the wrong road.

Your site is on the list. (Duh, it’s been on there forever). Ok, well the real question is: where are you actually starting from?

❶ You know your offers, your process, and how your brand should feel.

You just need help translating that into visuals, but you have the foundation. It’s prob scattered across your brain and your files but you could pull it together in a week or two. And you know your time is better spent serving your clients than learning tech and design.
